Seungyeon Kim

Research Scientist

Seungyeon Kim is a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, working in Theophane's team under VP Oriol Vinyals. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on thinking and reasoning, with particular interests spanning the scalability of reinforcement learning, adaptive computation, memorization in LLMs, model distillation, and extreme classification. Prior to his current role, he led the Scalable Intelligence Research team at Meta under Misha Bilenko. Before that, he served as a Research Engineer at DeepMind under Rob Fergus.
